Richard Smith Bernal | visit site
Richard Smith Bernal runs a personal training business offering personal one on one training and nutritional advice.
The Design tries to convey poise and balance - trimmed down to essentials! Largely monochrome and featuring photos of Richard to emphasise the personal in Personal Training.
Not much to say about the Technical side, the site is design led with no real technical issues.
The Court Reporter | visit site
The Court Reporter is a court reporting agency specialising in international arbitrations, and founded by Trevor McGowan.
The Design had to appeal to legal professionals. We opted for a typography led design almost exclusively in black and white with an aqua accent denoting links.
On the Technical side, the site uses jQuery to accomplish the smooth scrolling and Malsup's Cycle plug-in to run the slideshows.
Green Rooms | visit site
Green Rooms was established in 2001 by Gabriel Pol, and is a garden design and landscaping practice based in Brighton & Hove, working across Sussex and the South East.
The Design of the site is centred around letting people see their portfolio and as such had to create a calm and mature backdrop to photographs of their work.
On the Technical side, the site uses a sprinkling of jQuery to animate transitions.
Grozone* | visit site
Grozone are a garden design business that wanted a new website that allowed them to showcase their portfolio and passion for plants.
This Design uses minimalism to stunning effect. Pleasing proportions, intuitive controls and no distractions allow the user to focus completely on the beautiful pictures of plants and gardens.
On the Technical side, the site uses no fancy tricks, flash animation or even Javascript, just pure XHTML/CSS markup all the way.
Claire Hill Realtime Reporting | visit site
Claire Hill is a freelance court reporter who wanted a small site to function as an online business card and also to allow her to share audio files with colleagues.
The Design is simple and effective. A muted aqua pallette and a focused layout that conveys pure professionalism.
On the Technical side, the site uses Active Server Pages to create a password secured area to share confidential audio files.
Opus 2 | visit site
Opus 2 International is a full-service court reporting and litigation support company, founded by Graham Smith-Bernal, the man who created the LiveNote program, which is now the most widely used litigation support software in the world.
The Design was carefully crafted to maximise clarity and above all ease of navigation. Uses clickable areas to construct likely 'pathways' that Opus would like visitors to the site follow.
On the Technical side, this site had to incorporate online booking forms which, when filled in, used PHP to send the details on and also send a confirmation email to the client. Opus 2 also requested that the site be written in Google friendy code with a possible view to full-blown optimisation at a later date.
